Stay Safe During Hospitalization and Medical Procedures.Health & care
Follow these steps.
1. Truly staying safe, information and careful preparation are essential when planning a medical procedure, hospitalization, or surgery. This will boost your self-esteem, reduce anxiety, increase your safety, reduce stress, strengthen your immune system, and may prevent any mistakes.
2. Plan to be an active part of your health team, not an inactive participant.
3. Expect to recover and commit to doing your best before any medical procedure to strengthen your immune system, immune system, and good mood.
4. Get a second or third opinion for your diagnosis and treatment. You need to be fully informed of your options before going for surgery, treatment, including chemo or radiation. Go online and do your research again.
5. Choose the least possible non-invasive treatment. Don't let anyone talk to you about surgery or procedures you may not need! You are in charge here: use your strength.
6. At least a few days before your surgery / procedure / hospital, sign your medical consent forms. Check yourself twice for accuracy! It is good for your friend to read it too. Common mistakes here: if I had not checked my own at once, I would have lost several very healthy organs. Remember: YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MIND YOU CANNOT go for surgery / treatment, or at the last minute! It's your body, remember.
7. See a Hypnotherapist several times before your surgery or procedure. Hypnosis can reduce your fears, create deep relaxation, boost self-esteem, help prevent complications and side effects, strengthen the immune system, reduce bleeding and pain, and generally keep you calm during and after your medical experience. You will find a recording that will shape the next procedure / surgery, which will increase your rest and prepare your mind to recover soon after. With the help of your doctor, your Hypnotherapist can add any specific medical needs to your recording.
8. Before your procedure / surgery, double check your insurance agent to make sure what your insurance covers, so you will avoid any unforeseen negative costs.
9. Make sure your surgeon or surgeon will both be available immediately after your procedure, as well as the next few days. If they are not available, find out who will be. You do not want to miss out on their help if you have an emergency!
10. Food allergies or drugs / intolerance: Review all medications and diets regularly! It is common for hospitals to make mistakes. If you are hospitalized, make sure you have a leather belt and a blanket over your bed that means your special needs without being listed on your chart!
11. Take your loved one with you, if you are hospitalized. This will increase your safety, confidence and well-being. Some hospitals will allow you to sleep in your room, with pre-arranged arrangements. You need a patient advocate too! At least ask them to stay with you in your room for the first few days after the operation.
12.Keep your buzzer phone kept close! Attach it to the bed frame with a piece of tape or fasten it on either side of the frame. Do not leave your bed helpless after surgery; if you walk in a chair take your buzzer and go with it. You may need it in an emergency.
13. Speak up and ask for what you need, and complain. Do not let anyone harass you or mistreat you, not even the doctor! If this happens, report it immediately to the Patient Advocate or the head of the nurses. Studies show that speechless patients are treated more quickly than those who are silent.
14. Get permission in advance to bring a CD player or headphones / cell phone with calm, cool music to play during your surgery or procedure. This will speed up your healing and keep you relaxed.
Make sure everyone, including guests, washes their hands before touching you; make sure they wear new gloves - even your doctor.
16. Know the medication you will be taking during and after your procedure / surgery; make sure it's one you don't agree with. Morphine does not work to kill pain in about 15% of patients; I was one of these, and I suffered terribly until the doctor finally convinced me that morphine did not kill my pain, and it changed my pain patterns.
17. Be in top condition before your procedure / surgery. Eat wisely, take your supplements, and exercise to recover quickly.
18. Leave your jewelry home, especially piercing. They can get lost and interrupt treatment.
19. Expect all to go well! Talk to God, the Holy Spirit, your Angels, your guidance, your supernatural powers and ask for immediate protection and treatment before and after your surgery or procedure. See yourself healthy and happy after this event.
20. Ask someone in your treatment group to repeat several times before, during and after your surgery or procedure: "You will recover quickly and completely after your _______"
Apply special requests such as, "You will have a sensitive heart and pain, and you will remain relaxed and calm throughout your healing process."
If you follow these suggestions, you will be glad you did! And there is a lot of good health.
